WHEELER ROD ORVIS REEL

Charles Wheeler made split bamboo fly rods during the late 1800’s in Farmington, Maine. It is believed that Cornelius “Fly Rod” Crosby used a Wheeler rod. The Orvis reel is a very early example of what was to become an important advance in reel making.
